General installation instructions

Setup / Update

With this setup, you can perform a clean installation as well as an update of your existing FluidSIM 6 installation.

  • A valid FluidSIM 6 license is required.
  • Either a one-time Internet connection is required for activation, or a permanent Internet connection is required when using the online license. Details about this can be found on our separate page with Notes on the use of FluidSIM with or without internet connection.
  • The instructional videos can be downloaded optionally during the installation.
  • An overview with all changes since version 6.0 you can find in our version history. If you want to restore an older version of FluidSIM 6 you can find the relevant files in our download archive.

Installation media

The installation medium contains the simulation program, License Manager and Licenses Activation Wizard as well as the corresponding didactic material including all teaching videos and is available as an ISO image. This image can either be mounted as a drive for installation or unpacked into a folder and the installation can be started from there.

License management

The License Manager and License Activation Wizard to manage your licenses can be downloaded separately as a single executable file. No installation is required. To use the License Activation Wizard, the CodeMeter runtime must be installed.

Student License

A student license for FluidSIM is no longer offered.

FluidSIM 6 enables educational institutions to make their acquired/existing FluidSIM licenses available to their students via the Internet for a limited period of time. For this reason, Festo Didactic has discontinued the distribution of the student licenses.
