2-way flow control valve
The flow control valve ensures a constant flow rate in the flow direction A->B independent of the load pressure on B.
A->B: Oil flows from A through the pressure compensator via the throttle to B. At the throttle point, a dynamic pressure is created depending on the flow rate. This dynamic pressure acts on the piston of the pressure compensator and pushes the piston back against the spring and the pressure in B. The piston now throttles the supply to the throttle and thus ensures a constant pressure difference across the throttle. The volume flow is constant.
B->A: In this direction the flow control valve works only as a throttle, because the piston of the pressure compensator always receives a higher pressure from B than from A. In addition the check valve opens and thus bypasses the throttle.

Failure models
Failure model | Description |
---|---|
Check valve always closed | The check valve is always closed. |
Check valve always open | The check valve is always open. |
Pressure compensator without function | The pressure compensator does not work. The component is therefore not able to do a regulation. |
