Steering unit (Orbitrol)

The steering unit is used to steer vehicles that are equipped with hydrostatic steering.
The steering unit consists of a proportional rotary valve, a pump control valve and a dosing pump. The rotary valve is opened proportional to torque (steering force) and direction of rotation. The control edges of the proportional valve are arranged radially at several levels on the rotary piston and the inside of the rotary valve housing. A spring package assures a spring centered, closed mid-position.
